This is Chef’s Helper set up for a fictional restaurant, The Copper Pot. Costed recipes, a priced menu, temperature records, stock, allergen reviews, a rota and the audit pack that pulls it all together. Everything below is sample data, so have a look before you decide whether to sign up.
The Copper Pot is a 60-cover bistro: a head chef, a sous chef, a chef de partie and a kitchen porter, around 40 recipes on rotation, a menu that changes with the seasons and one environmental health visit a year. Small enough that nobody has time for paperwork, big enough that missing paperwork is a problem.
Sample kitchen. Figures and staff names are made up for illustration.

What Chef’s Helper replaces
What you’d do next in your own kitchen
- Add or import your recipes, then let the app cost them and flag allergens for review.
- Record fridge, freezer, cooking and delivery temperatures from a phone on the pass.
- Invite your team so prep, checks and the rota are shared rather than on paper.
- Export an audit pack when the EHO calls.
Common questions
Is this real kitchen data?
No. The Copper Pot is fictional and every figure, dish and staff name on this page is made up to show how the app is laid out.
Can I try it with my own recipes?
Yes. Start a free trial and add or import your own recipes. Chef’s Helper costs them and flags allergens for review straight away.
Do I need a card to try it?
No. Every new account gets a 14-day free trial of all features with no card required, and drops to the Free plan afterwards without deleting your data.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Temperature checks, prep and stock counts are designed to be done from a phone on the pass, and there is an Android app as well as the web app.
