Food safety software for UK kitchens
The fridge sheet is half filled in, the pen has gone, and someone wrote 5°C in a column marked 3°C. Chef’s Helper keeps temperature logs, daily checks and corrective actions on the phone in your pocket, dated and named, so the record is there when the inspector asks.
What the food safety area covers
Temperature logs
Record fridge, freezer, cooking, hot holding, cooling and delivery temperatures. Each reading is checked against a safe range and delivery logs can carry the supplier invoice number.
Safety checks and corrective actions
Run opening and closing checks, and record what was done when a reading or check fails, with the name of the person who logged it.
Works when the signal drops
On the Android app, logs saved without a connection are kept on the device and sent when you are back online.
EHO audit pack
Export temperature records, safety checks and allergen information for a date range as a PDF or CSV ready for an inspection.
Built around how UK kitchens are inspected
Records follow the structure of the FSA’s Safer Food, Better Business pack, so moving off paper doesn’t mean relearning what to write down. The same daily records suit CookSafe in Scotland and Safe Catering in Northern Ireland — the fridge, freezer, cooking, hot holding, cooling and delivery checks are the same, and kitchens working to Scottish guidance can switch the reheat target to 82°C in Settings. See how Chef’s Helper lines up with SFBB, CookSafe and Safe Catering.
See what an audit pack looks like
This is what you hand over at an inspection: temperature records with corrective actions, opening and closing checks, and the allergen matrix, all in one PDF. Download a sample audit pack (PDF). It uses made-up demo data and is clearly marked as a sample.
Questions kitchens ask
Does food safety software replace my HACCP plan or SFBB pack?
No. It records the checks your plan or SFBB pack asks for, so they are dated, named and easy to find. Your food safety management system still sets what to check and how often.
What happens when a temperature reading is out of range?
Chef’s Helper flags the reading against the safe range for that log type and asks for a corrective action, so the record shows what was done about it.
Can I show the records to an EHO?
Yes. The audit pack exports temperature records, safety checks and allergen information for a chosen date range so you can hand them over or print them.
